Assistant Artistic Director
A native of San Diego/Tijuana, Daniel studied and performed Mexican folk dance in high school under the tutelage of Ana Maria Flores. He furthered his training to include ballet, jazz, modern dance, and choreography, earning a B.A. degree in Dance from the UCSD. He relocated to NYC in early 2011, and by the fall of 2012, he formed Daniel Flores Dance. Since then, DFD has been showcased at various venues and events throughout NYC. By the summer of 2014, and after a 17-year hiatus, he would return to Mexican folk dance, training and performing with BFMNY, Calpulli Mexican Dance Company, and Mazarte Dance Company. Daniel looks forward to serving as Assistant Artistic Director of Xochipilli Dance Ensemble.
